Report an error
Use our Contact page and provide:
- The article’s URL.
- The statement or information you believe is incorrect.
- Supporting evidence or reliable source links.
We review requests as promptly as practicable, prioritising errors that could affect applications, deadlines or other important decisions.
How we make corrections
Factual errors: We correct verified errors. Substantial corrections receive a dated note explaining what was wrong and what changed.
Minor edits: Spelling, grammar and formatting changes that do not alter meaning may be made without a correction note.
Updates: New developments are identified as updates where appropriate. An update is distinguished from correcting information that was wrong when published.
Retractions: If an article’s central premise is unreliable, we may retract it and explain why. Where possible, an explanatory notice remains available.
Where a material error was repeated on social channels we control, we also seek to correct that version.
Disagreements and complaints
Disagreement with an opinion does not itself establish a factual error. However, we review concerns about factual accuracy, misleading presentation, attribution and fairness in both News and Opinion articles.
Other complaints and reconsideration
Concerns about privacy, attribution, conflicts of interest, or editorial fairness can be raised through our Complaints and Grievances process. A disagreement with an opinion can still raise a valid concern about the facts or evidence supporting it.
If you believe our response has missed relevant evidence, reply with the specific point and any supporting material. Vikrant Malik will reconsider the issue. This is an internal editorial review and does not replace any applicable external complaint or appeal rights.
